On this page, you'll find practical, easy-to-follow steps to guide you through every stage of the interview process — from researching a company and practicing responses to making a positive impression and following up afterward. Explore the resources below to get started, and remember: every interview is a chance to learn, grow, and move one step closer to your goals.
Before the Interview
Research the Employer: Learn about the company’s mission, values, and recent achievements. Check their website, social media, and news articles.
Review the Job Description: Identify the skills and qualifications required. Reflect on how your experience aligns with the role.
Practice Common Interview Questions: Use tools like Big Interview to practice responses. Focus on telling compelling stories about your skills and accomplishments.
Prepare Your Own Questions: Plan a few thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer about the company, team, or role.
Plan Your Attire: Dress appropriately for the company’s culture. When in doubt, opt for professional attire.
Organize Necessary Documents: Print extra copies of your resume, cover letter, and any other requested materials. Bring a notebook and pen.
During the Interview
Arrive Early: Plan to arrive 10–15 minutes early. For virtual interviews, test your technology beforehand.
Demonstrate Positive Body Language: Maintain eye contact, smile genuinely, and use open body language.
Listen Actively: Give the interviewer your full attention. Nod and respond appropriately to show engagement.
Be Concise and Relevant: Structure responses using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to provide clear, focused answers.
Show Enthusiasm: Express your interest in the role by highlighting why you're excited about the opportunity.
After the Interview
Send a Thank-You Note: Email a thank-you note within 24 hours. Mention specific points from the interview to personalize your message.
Reflect on Your Performance: Take time to consider what went well and where you could improve. Jot down key insights for future reference.
